Maintenance Technician 3

REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time/Non-Exempt
BENEFITS: 10% YMCA Retirement, Family Program Fees, Free Day Camp, Health Insurance, Paid Time Off
SALARY RANGE: $18.89-$26.47
POSITION SUMMARY: The general function of Maintenance Technician 3 is to maintain the general appearance of the campus and handle basic repairs and other tasks assigned by the Director of Facilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Participate in keeping the campus in good condition both appearance-wise and from a safety standpoint year-round.
  • Participate in daily duties such as trash removal, groundskeeping, basic repairs, responding to maintenance calls, and snow removal.
  • Participate in long-term projects, including the repair/remodeling of buildings and rooms and campus improvements to the grounds and infrastructure.
  • Operate and maintain equipment safely, including but not limited to trucks, ground equipment, carpentry tools, etc.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by the Director of Facilities in a timely manner.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including vehicle construction areas.
  • Must be able to work independently or as a team member.
  • Must be able to work weekend rotations regularly.
  • Must be able to work weekends and come in early or stay late when bad weather (snow) or other needs arise.
  • As a 24-hour operation, all staff may be asked to work weekend, evening, or night shifts and/or holidays in order to serve our members, guests, and program participants.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3-5 years experience.
  • Working knowledge and experience of some of the following skills: groundskeeping, painting, snowplowing, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and mechanical repairs.
  • Ability to read and write English and interpret oral and written information and data is required.
  • A high school degree or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
