Senior Manager

POSITION:                 Senior Manager                     
 
REPORTS TO:          Assistant Director
 
 
JOB SUMMARY: 
The Senior Manager will be responsible to support the daily operations, compliance, and oversight of the programs under the supervision and guidance of the Assistant Director and Director.  The Senior Manager supports the management team through coaching, supervision, development, and training.  The Senior Manager will ensure that the team maintains compliance, complies with regulations, and supports the managers with the daily needs, operations, and goals of all of the team and the individuals in our care.  The Senior Manager also assists in carrying out the goals identified in the Strategic Plan in the residential programs and assists with special projects assigned by the Director.
 
SUPERVISORY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following.
 

  1. Supervise overall daily operations of the residences and services under the direction of the Assistant Director and/or Regional Director. 
 
  1. Provide supervision, leadership, training, and development opportunities for staff, to aid with retention, quality services, and a positive workplace.
 
  1. Provide coaching, feedback, and training to the Managers and Direct Support Professionals.  Provide quarterly check ins with Managers to assist with their development.
 
  1. Provide staff with feedback and suggestions to increase the active participation of individuals receiving services and to help maximize revenue/billing.
 
  1. Participate with the interview and staff selection process.   Orients and coordinate training for new managers.  Participates in the annual staff evaluation process.
 
  1. Positively collaborate and communicate with family members, community members, and other team members.
 
  1. Ensure that Life Plan Goals that are identified, are carried out; Assessments are completed thoroughly. Participate in team meetings on a regular basis.
 
  1. Be a resource for Direct Support Professionals-provide them with ideas to help foster a greater sense of cooperation and community.
 
  1. Coordinate efforts with all team members and individuals in our care, to achieve person-centered and person-driven goals and outcomes.
 
  1. Provide oversight and direction to the programs to ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations.  Ensure agency policies and procedures are followed and adhered to.
 
  1. Visit all assigned work sites on a regular basis to identify physical plant and environmental concerns, and to aid the programs with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for all.
 
  1. Ensure that all team members remain compliance and up to date with all required training.
 
  1. Actively participate in agency committees, events, and meetings.
 
  1. Directly manage programs in the absence of managers.
 
  1. Oversee staff scheduling and ensure that program and individual needs are met.
 
  1. Provide regional support in the absence of the Assistant Director.
 
  1. Perform other duties as requested by the Regional Director and/or designee.
 
  1. Performs other duties and activities as may be requested by the Assistant Director and/or Director.  Assist with management coverage, throughout the region, in the absence of others at their assigned locations. 
 
  1. Work schedule includes Manager on Duty (MOD) rotation.   
  2. Understands and operates in a trauma informed manner.
 
 
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Meet qualifications for vehicle certification.
  • Visual, auditory, and motor skills necessary to ensure maintenance of safety standards.
  • Ability to perform approved CPR, SCIP procedures and administer medications per Agency policy and procedures.
  • Capacity to assist individuals in ambulation and transfer.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills and adherence to timelines.
  • Excellent time management skills 
  • Ability to exercise problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to facilitate conflict resolution
  • Ability to prioritize and to pivot routinely, based on shifting priorities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Capacity to lift, push, pull and assist individuals in ambulation and transfer.
  • Prolonged periods of driving to and from various locations.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
 
  1. EDUCATION:      Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related 
field. Significant experience including supervisory experience 
may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
 
 
  1. EXPERIENCE:   At least three years’ experience working with people with 
developmental disabilities, including at least one year in a supervisory role is required.  Experience in IRAs is preferred.
