Maintenance Crew Lead / Foreman

Job Purpose:
The purpose of this job is to help the company grow and make a profit by:

  1. Completing jobs efficiently and profitably
  2. Ensuring that everyone on the crew is working safely
  3. Ensuring customer satisfaction and company image
  4. Continuously looking for better ways to do the work
Pay Range: $20-$22 / hour - no experience needed.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Completing jobs efficiently and profitably
  1. Manage crew and job site so each job can be completed efficiently and profitably.
  2. Track labor and equipment hours and material quantities to ensure that crew’s are meeting or beating estimated quantities.
  3. Review daily goals with crew each morning so that everyone has the game plan.
  4. Check trucks and equipment daily for any issues to help minimize equipment repair costs and minimize lost time to broken equipment. Report back to Maintenance Manager with any problems during that day.
  5. Follow systems in place so all employees and crews work in a similar manner.
  6. Be efficient in the yard each morning and afternoon to ensure that crews roll out in a timely manner and with all the necessary tools & materials.
  7. Double check to make sure all tools needed to complete the job are on the job site each day so no time is lost returning to the shop.
  8. Manage materials on site to minimize waste.
  9. Loading at night for the next day
  10. Keep job site organized and clean so materials and tools can be easily located.
  11. Report payroll hours on timesheet each day as required
  12. Enter all necessary material and equipment notes on the timesheet
  13. Report and track additional work so it can be accounted for and billed.
  • Ensuring everyone on the crew is working safely
  1. As the foreman/crew leader-you lead by example and set the tone for the crew.
  2. Discuss safety concerns with crew each morning and whenever it is necessary
  3. Conduct safety training on equipment so each crew member is familiar with how to use the equipment safely and efficiently
  4. Make sure team is filling out accident reports in a timely manner
  5. Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment for the job at hand (Safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, pants and company shirt
  • Customer satisfaction and company image
  1. Make sure that all employees are dressed appropriately and upholding our image.
  2. Make sure trucks and equipment are being kept clean each day so our company has a good image.
  3. Ensure that the crew members are following the company culture and professionalism so that our company stands out from the rest.
  4. Understand the customer’s specific level of service by discussing the goals of each property with the Maintenance Manager.
  5. Ensure that our crew is meeting our customer’s level of service.
  6. Check in regularly with customers to make sure jobs are being completed satisfactorily and that our company is meeting their level of maintenance service.
  7. Cross sell to customers as needed to increase sales & profitability
 
  • Continuously looking for better ways to do the work
  1. Discuss with crew members on a daily basis on how to improve our operations or specifically on that project site. Pass along ideas to management team for future discussion and implementation.
Success Measures
  1. Bring each job in on time and on budget
  2. 0 call backs
  3. 0 accidents
  4. Satisfied customers (0-customer complaints)
  5. 1 to 2 ideas to improve efficiency and productivity a quarter.
