Having been involved in the farmers market for the past 5 years\, I have come to define our market as the ultimate link between people\, business and community. We have every reason to believe that 2019 will be a banner year for our market\, our farmers and our consumers. Please stop in\, meet our farmers and support your favorite neighborhood market\," stated June Curtis Ticonderoga Area Farmers Market Advisor.\n\nThe Ticonderoga Area Farmers Market is a certified farmers market which has market rules that define who can sell and what can be sold at the market.\n\nThere is an application process to accept new and returning vendors. Market advisors are available to answer general inquiries and assist with the necessary paperwork should a vendor wish to certify with NYS Agriculture and Markets to be able to participate in the coupon programs. The Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) provides coupons for fresh fruits and vegetables\, to people eligible for WIC and Senior Nutrition Programs. Some of our farmers are FMNP authorized to accept FMNP coupons. Please look for the signs at their booths and redeem your coupons for wholesome\, nutritious produce.\n\nThe Ticonderoga Area Farmers Market is continuing to recruit farmers\, vendors\, and volunteers for the 2019 season\, special events\, etc.\n\n"If you produce a quality food product that is locally grown\, farm raised or handmade featuring local materials\, you may be interested in participating in the Farmers Market\," said Market Advisor June Curtis. "Farmers are required to grow 50 percent of the fruits and vegetables they offer. All products must be local (produced within a 100-mile radius of Ticonderoga including Vermont). The market welcomes vendors who offer original goods that complement farmers' products. If you are hesitant to commit to the full season\, a flexible schedule is readily offered to encourage participation."\n\nWhile the market is a committee of the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce it would not be possible without our Market Advisor June Curtis\, use and maintenance of the property & onsite market assistance/coordination from Carol & Rick Ramundo\, Ann Lamb\, Dave Flack\, farmers\, vendors\, committee members\, and other volunteers. This year the Chamber also welcomes Lily Rasmus as the Project & Farmers Market Coordinator. X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
