Week 1
Tuesday, July 9 - MASKS
Create face masks and add design, color, and texture. Attach to straw or dowel.
Friday, July 12 - T-SHIRTS
Using your hand outline, make a design, with fabric paint, on a t-shirt. Participants are asked to provide their own t-shirt or fabric.
Week 2
Tuesday, July 16 - LINE DESIGN
Draw a circle in the center of drawing paper. Divide outside of circle into 6 parts. Create six different line shapes in each of the six parts. Create a frame for the picture.
Friday, July 19- TEXTURE RUBBINGS
Draw various shapes on a paper and outline them in black marker. Then, rub over a variety of objects to create an interesting filler for each shape.
Week 3
Tuesday, July 23 - FOIL COLLAGE
Use pieces of tissue paper, buttons, beads, sequins, and paint to create a colorful collage on aluminum foil.
Friday, July 26 - 3-D ART SCULPTURE COLLAGE
Create a background paper with crayon or marker. Then, using colorful strips of paper and folding, cutting, curling, etc., glue these shapes to the background paper.
Week 4
Tuesday, July 30 - CLAY BIRDS AND NESTS
Create nests and birds with air dry clay and decorate with beads, buttons, and feathers.
Friday, August 2 - THE ART OF THE POSTAGE STAMP
After looking at US Bicentennial Stamps, design your own postage stamp celebrating America’s 250th birthday.
Week 5
Tuesday, August 6 - TROPICAL BIRD ART
Using an outline of your foot, create a tropical bird and background. Decorate with feathers, beads, glitter.
Friday, August 9 - STAINED GLASS
Create stained glass effect using picture frames, glue, food color, and toothpicks.
Week 6
Tuesday, August 13 - INSIDE OUT DESIGN
Using two different colors of paper to create opposite designs on each side of the paper.
Friday, August 16 - CARDBOARD WEAVING CIRCLE
Create a weaving circle with cardboard and yarn. Change color and add beads as you go.
