The Ticonderoga Best 4thIn The North Committee, a sub-committee of the Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership (TMSP) is pleased to announce that they will host the 4th Annual Ticonderoga Area Mom Prom on Saturday, March 24th, 2018 from 7:00 – 11:00 PM at the Ticonderoga EMA Club located at 9 Maplewood Drive. The theme of the event is “Sea You At The Beach.”  This event is a benefit to help support the Best 4th In The North Celebration and the Ticonderoga Tiny Tim Program. You do not have to be a Mom to attend but you must be at least 21.

The Ticonderoga Area Mom Prom is a ladies night out event to benefit local non-profits. Tickets are available for $40.00 per person at Glens Falls National Bank and the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce. Tickets will not be available at the door. Advance purchase is required. This charity event will include an array of appetizers, desserts, music, dancing, photographs, cash bar, raffles, and the random drawing for Most Regal, Most Unique, and the 2018 Ticonderoga Area Mom Prom Queen.  

“Join us for a ladies night out for charity. Save the date, get your ticket, and pull out that old prom, bridesmaid or wedding dress, or try something new, you could even wear a pantsuit. Wear whatever works the best for you. Come dance the night away to benefit two local nonprofits. We hope to make this year’s event the biggest and best yet. Please join us and help make that possible” shared Starr Smith – Mom Prom Chair.

Mom Prom was created in Canton, MI in 2006 at St. Thomas a’Becket Catholic Church.  It is a ladies night out for charity in which women wear their old prom gowns, bridesmaid dresses or wedding gowns.  It is a real prom with a DJ, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and a drawing to crown the new queen. This is a wonderful, hilarious night in which women can dance the night away, have fun with friends and help a worthy cause.  Ladies groups from across the country have been creating their own proms and raising money for charities that are close to their hearts.  

The Best 4th In The North/Mom Prom committee is also currently looking for sponsors and raffle items for the event.  If you are interested please contact Starr Smith at 518-321-4246. All donations are tax deductible.

The Best 4th In the North Celebration attracts many visitors to the Ticonderoga area every year, which supports local businesses and the local economy.  The 2018 Best 4th In the North Celebration will take place July 1-4, 2018 with fireworks, parade, live music, food, vendors, rides, games and more.

Without the support of the Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership, Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Ticonderoga, our area businesses, organizations, community members and the vendors at the event this celebration would not be possible.  The Best 4th In the North celebration costs approximately $30,000 each year. The biggest expenses for the celebration are the fireworks ($18,000- $20,000) and the bands/entertainment.  

The Town of Ticonderoga does provide some funding which is greatly appreciated, but most of the money needed is raised by the committee.  Donations in support of the committee’s efforts are tax-deductible.  We encourage community members and visitors to stay up to date on the celebration as well as fundraisers by liking the Best 4th In the North on facebook.
