The Queen’s Treasures, nationally known for its exquisite dolls, doll clothes, accessories, and furniture, will celebrate its exciting expansion with the grand opening of The Mercantile at The Queen’s Treasures on Thursday, October 9th, 2025. The official ribbon cutting will take place at 4:00 PM at 162 The Portage, Ticonderoga, NY.
The celebration in coordination with the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce will feature an opportunity to explore the mercantile, refreshments, samples of food offerings, and a special drawing for a $250 shopping spree. Anyone visiting the shop during October is eligible to enter.
Founded with the mission of creating heirloom-quality toys that inspire imagination and foster positive play, The Queen’s Treasures has grown from a specialty toy line into a beloved national brand. Their products, scaled perfectly for popular 15” and 18” dolls such as American Girl®, are cherished by families across generations.
“With tariffs devastating our sweet handmade toy line, sold nationally, and the uncertainty around constant changes, we face the option of reinvention or folding. We, along with thousands of small brands, could never afford to ‘open a factory.’ We began advocating for small business while trying to plan a ‘future’” shared Joann Cartiglia, President of The Queen’s Treasures. “Our license with Little House on the Prairie helps honor the life of one of my favorite authors, Laura Ingalls-Wilder. With Little House in mind, we are now launching a licensed line of incredible baking mixes called Little House on the Prairie Pantry. The mixes are simple enough to make with your child and create memorable fun. The launch of the line includes six delicious baking mixes created with the real-life recipes derived from the Little House cookbook. All-natural jams, soups, and other products will follow.”
She continued, “In addition, we are pleased to announce the opening of The Mercantile at The Queen’s Treasures in the old Blodgett Plumbing building. The old-fashioned store (with a contemporary twist) will feature our amazing line of handmade toys (at outlet prices), gourmet goodies and gift baskets, antiques and unique furniture priced to sell, a curated selection of home décor, old fashioned candy, children and baby items, and an ever-changing selection of well-priced, unique products. We will be focused on a shop for residents of the region, and will, of course, warmly welcome our visitors!”
The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to support this exciting new chapter for The Queen’s Treasures, a business that continues to grow, adapt, and invest in the Ticonderoga Area.
“Mark your calendars and plan to join us on October 9th to celebrate with and support The Queen’s Treasures. We are thankful for Joann and her team’s commitment, investment, and continued innovation in the Ticonderoga Area. We look forward to working with them as they expand their offerings and provide another wonderful destination business for both residents and visitors,” stated Matthew Courtright, TACC President & CEO.
The Mercantile at The Queen’s Treasures is set to become a destination for both locals and visitors, blending handmade toys, specialty goods, and nostalgic charm with modern convenience.
