We celebrate the relationship of women and nature in song with sopranos Sylvia Stoner and Suna Gunther. Joined by accompanist Michael Clement, this special afternoon recital highlights repertoire, both solo and duet, that celebrates the connection of music to its natural roots. Program includes song selections by Lili Boulanger, Aaron Copland, Lori Laitman, Richard Strauss, and more!
Madame Marcella Sembrich herself was enthralled by the splendor of nature and the inspiration of song from the natural world. One of her most famous quotes states, “nature is the supreme teacher.” Indeed, The Sembrich studio was built so that her students could learn and develop their abilities while surrounded by the natural inspiration of the Adirondacks.
Event will be held rain or shine.
