DESCRIPTION:Town of Ticonderoga Public Micro Grant Meeting\n\n6:00 PM | TACC Office\n\nThe Town of Ticonderoga is pleased to announce the second round of its small business grant program\, offered in partnership with the Essex County Industrial Development Agency (ECIDA) and the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC). The 2026 Ticonderoga Microenterprise Grant Program\, funded by the Town of Ticonderoga through Essex County Occupancy Tax funds (via the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism)\, officially launches today - marking the first major economic development initiative of the year for the collaborating agencies.\n\nLocal businesses interested in learning more are encouraged to attend a public information meeting on Wednesday\, January 14 th at 6:00 PM at the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce office (94 Montcalm Street\, Suite 1   Ticonderoga\, NY). Representatives from the TACC and the ECIDA will provide key details about the program\, including eligibility requirements\, permitted use of funds\, application steps\, required training (Tuesday\, January 27th \, 2026)\, financial assistance opportunities\, and the overall timeline. Information on additional business support resources will also be shared.\n\n"This second round of the microgrant program demonstrates the town's commitment to the development\, reinvestment\, and sustainability of our local business community by allocating specific tax monies (occupancy tax funds) through a competitive grant application process. I am deeply appreciative of the partnership between the Town\, TACC\, and ECIDA. Their foresight and dedication make programs like this for local businesses and our economy possible\," said Mark Wright\, Former Town of Ticonderoga Supervisor.\n\nNewly elected Town of Ticonderoga Supervisor also shared his support from the program.\n\n\n\n"As I prepare to begin my service as Town Supervisor\, I am honored to work in partnership with\n\nthe Essex County Industrial Development Agency and the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of\n\nCommerce on the Micro Grant Program. A designated grant review committee will evaluate all final\n\napplications. For transparency and fairness\, the Town Supervisor\, ECIDA Executive Director\, and\n\nTACC President and CEO who coordinate the grant program will not serve on this review\n\ncommittee.\n\n"The microgrants will help address small businesses' lack of access to capital and support their\n\nability to offer a more relevant mix of wares\, goods\, and services. This will strengthen business\n\nviability\, improve resilience\, and promote job retention and creation. The community will be\n\ninvesting in amenities that encourage visitors to stay longer while improving residents' access\n\nto local resources\, enhancing quality of life and leveraging private funding sources. Overall\,\n\nthese grants will help tourism-related businesses become more economically viable.
