SUMMARY:Cross-Country Ski with Tony Goodwin
DESCRIPTION:JOIN US ON SUNDAY\, FEBRUARY 11TH AT 12 PM AT LONG POND TRAIL FOR AN AFTERNOON CROSS-COUNTRY SKI\n\n\n\nCome ski on Champlain Area Trails' newest addition at Long Pond with Tony Goodwin\, an Adirondack skier\, and former Adirondack Trail Improvement Society Executive Director. Long Pond Trail reaches the pond at 1.3 miles. Depending on snow and ice conditions\, we will either ski the trail or take to the ice to enjoy the lovely views as we reach the end of the trail. If neither option is possible\, we will enjoy the lovely view before returning to Carver Road and adding a bit of distance along the road. Our hope\, of course\, is to reach the end of the shoreline\, where there are woods and old stone walls that add charm to the trail. This outing is recommended for those with some background in cross-country skiing\; it is a moderate ski.\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION: There is limited space. Email Torey@champlainareatrails.com to register!\n\n\n\nDIRECTIONS: The trailhead is reached by turning off Route 22 on Carver Road\, five miles north of Willsboro or three miles south of the Northway's Willsboro exit. The parking lot is not quite a mile up Carver\, on the right\, and is identifiable by a small lot with a kiosk. WHAT TO BRING: Dress in good winter layers for skiing. We do not provide skis but can recommend places to rent them if needed. Bring your own cup for hot chocolate at the end. We offer our outdoor educational programs for free\, thanks to our generous donors. Your support is crucial for us to continue providing these programs in the future. We would be grateful for your donation today!
