Check out this 5-mile loop trail to a stunning view on top of Payne Mountain. This is a new trail that leads to a gorgeous open summit with views of Lake Champlain as well as the High Peaks. The elevation gain is around 800 feet. The hike is fairly moderate and not too steep\, making the summit's views even more remarkable. This is a lovely winter hike! This hike should take about 3 hours. Dress in good layers for hiking\, and bring hats and mittens/gloves. Remember to bring snacks and water!
