SUMMARY:Call of the Wild: Horns of the Philadelphia Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:We've taken the French horn from its rightful place in the concert hall and are bringing it out into the open air and back to its forested roots. Join us as we feature Jennifer Montone and Jeffrey Lang\, Principal and Associate Principal horn players with The Philadelphia Orchestra\, for an outdoor concert featuring a cornucopia of musical delights. From traditional hunting calls to masterful concerti\, we will celebrate the horn in all its majesty and glory. Program highlights include works by Mozart\, Haydn\, and Kalliwoda. \n\nJoining the horn duo is Philadelphia Orchestra violinist and Sembrich Board Member Philip Kates\, who is also represented on the program by one of his own compositions\, "Legende\," written in the 1980s for legendary horn player Mason Jones.\n\n\n\n\nEvent will be held under a performance tent on The Sembrich's beautiful lakeside property. Concertgoers are welcome to bring their own portable folding chairs or use those provided by The Sembrich. Ushers will ensure appropriate social distancing when seating attendees. Masks are required at all times while on The Sembrich property. Health and safety guidelines prescribed by the CDC and the State of New York will be enforced. Failure to comply will result in ejection from the property and forfeiture of admission.\n\n\n\nEvent will be held rain or shine.
