SUMMARY:Bridge & Wolak Duo: Classical Stardust at The Sembrich
DESCRIPTION:Our 2022 Flonzaley Resident Artists\, the Bridge & Wolak Duo (Michael Bridge and Kornel Wolak)\, return for a second performance entitled "Classical Stardust\," this one in the Sembrich studio as a part of our Masterwork Series. In contrast to the comic routines and digital equipment employed in the earlier Promenade performance\, the duo will adopt a more serious demeanor and turn to acoustic instruments for this salon performance of music by Bach\, Chopin\, Rachmaninoff\, Lutos awski and Morricone. \n"A wizard of the accordion" (CBC Music)\, Canadian performer\, teacher\, and entrepreneur Michael Bridge is making the concert-accordion and digital-accordion accessible to the next generation. As a soloist with orchestra or string quartet\, he performs in concert halls all over the world. He's also a serious academician and is completing his Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Toronto.\n\nHighly praised on two continents for his glorious tone\, precise technical control\, and musical imagination\, Kornel Wolak continues to expand the clarinet repertoire by commissioning new pieces. Wolak regularly appears in recitals as chamber musician and as soloist with American and European orchestras. A "Fryderyk" nominee\, Poland's highest recording award\, he is a regular fixture on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation\, Classical 96.3 FM\, Public Radio International\, and in the US\, National Public Radio.
