Housekeeper - Full Time

REPORTS TO: Director of Hospitality Services 

 

CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time/Non-Exempt 

 

SALARY RANGE:  $ 14.20 - $ 19.88

GENERAL FUNCTION: To maintain a clean comfortable environment in all buildings for guests and staff. 

 

KNOW HOW:   You must be in good physical health and be able to climb ladders, stairs, etc. and perform other manual tasks.  This position requires the ability to respond to guests and staff with courtesy.  The ability to work well with a team is necessary.  Hospitality Service staff start early in the morning and finish by mid-afternoon with an occasional long day and evening duty.  The ability to read and write English and interpret oral and written informational data is required.  A high school degree or equivalent as well as a valid driver’s license is desired, but not required.  

 

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES: 

  1. Hospitality Service staff are assigned to teams/routes that clean all assigned areas on campus, including sleeping buildings, staff restrooms, lobbies, public facilities, and other areas as assigned by your supervisor.
  2. In addition to the sleeping rooms, the Inn lobby, gym and the office behind the front desk are to be cleaned on a daily basis, including the straightening of furniture, vacuuming, washing windows and emptying of trash containers.
  3. Cottages are cleaned on change days, generally Saturday, after guests leave and before new guests arrive. 
  4. Once your regular route is completed you are expected to assist with cleaning the cottages and any other routes that are not completed.
  5. Public restrooms are thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis; staff restrooms are cleaned Sun. – Fri.
  6. You are expected to maintain the cleanliness and keep clutter free the areas on your route as well as the hospitality services staff area.
  7. Practice safe chemical usage.
  8. Perform CSU duties as needed.

END RESULT:  The efficient work of the housekeepers keeps Silver Bay neat and clean and presents a positive atmosphere to members and guests that greatly enhance their experience on campus.
