Join CATSWomen, a volunteer-led group dedicated to empowering women of all ages and paces, for a scenic hike in Hague, New York. This welcoming environment, supported by Champlain Area Trails, is perfect for building friendships and enhancing outdoor skills. Event Details: - Hike Location: Hague, New York - Trail Distance: 3.5 miles - Difficulty Level: Moderately challenging with some rock scrambling (880 feet elevation gain) - Estimate Duration: Approximately 4 hours Hiking Experience: Experience a breathtaking 3.5-mile round-trip hike that showcases a stunning 700-foot slab while providing spectacular views of Lake George. This scenic trail is not only a perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts but also steeped in rich historical significance, as it was the site of the famous "Battle on Snowshoes" during the French and Indian War. What to Bring: Prepare for the late summer conditions by bringing the following essentials: - clothing appropriate for the sun and potentially bugs - shoes with good tread that can get wet and muddy - Plenty of water - Snacks or a packed lunch Getting Here: Park along Route 9N (Lake Shore Drive) and then take a short 1/2 mile walk through campsite 210 to the trailhead.
