Join the CATSWomen Hike on Wednesday, September 24th at 10 am: Explore Boquet Mountain! Are you ready to experience the beauty of nature and boost your confidence in the outdoors? Join CATSWomen, a volunteer-led group dedicated to empowering women of all ages and paces, for a scenic hike in Essex, New York. This welcoming environment, supported by Champlain Area Trails, is perfect for building friendships and enhancing outdoor skills. Event Details: - Hike Location: Essex, New York - Trail Distance: 4.8 miles - Difficulty Level: Moderate (650 feet elevation gain) - Estimate Duration: Approximately 3 hours Hiking Experience: This 4.8-mile trail follows the saddle between North and South Bouquet Mountains. Experience the rich diversity of the oak-hickory-hornbeam forest, culminating in breathtaking views of the Champlain Valley and Vermont's Green Mountains! Registration Information: Email Samantha@champlainareatrails.com to register. Schedule: - Meeting Time: Arrive at the trailhead by 9:45 AM for a prompt 10:00 AM start. What to Bring: Prepare for the late summer conditions by bringing the following essentials: - clothing appropriate for the sun and potentially bugs - shoes that can get wet and muddy - plenty of water - snacks or a packed lunch Getting Here: Find the north trailhead on Jersey St.,1½ mi west of the Boquet River.
