Description

This hike is a 13-mile "hamlet to hamlet" hike on CATS Trails and back roads. Begin in Essex and hike past lush farms and rich forests while enjoying beautiful scenery on the way to the Fairgrounds in Westport. Three oases on the route allow you to fill up your water bottle and enjoy a snack along the way. Meet at the Fairgrounds at 9:45am, take a shuttle ti the Ferry in Essex, or you can meet behind Essex Town Hall between 10:00 and  11:00am, make the hike, and catch a shuttle back to the Ferry at the end of the day, leaving the Fairgrounds in Westport on the hour and the Essex Ice Cream Shop on the half hour. So, if you simply want to park in Essex and be shuttled to and from the Harvest Festival. you can do that.
