North Country Community College is offering a full slate of community workshops this spring and early summer. These workshops will be held on the NCCC Ticonderoga campus located at 11 Hawkeye Trail, across from the Bicentennial Park. There are four workshops planned for the month of February.
Nancy Scarzello, is an herbalist with over 35 years of experience studying and teaching throughout New England. She designed and installed the Medicinal Herb garden at Fort Ticonderoga and has been a featured presenter at their Garden Symposium. Scarzello will be offering a four-part Herbal Medicine Series, starting with “Vibrant Winter Health” on Friday, February 12th from 12:30 -4:30. Participants will learn how to prepare for the health challenges the winter months bring to us. They will learn how to build a strong immune system and how to use prevention to ward off colds, coughs, sore throats, fevers, and even the flu! She will demonstrate how to make simple homemade remedies to have on hand which include teas, tinctures, cough syrup and more. Those attending will receive handouts, recipes, and samples of take-home remedies. The fee is $50 for this workshop, with a material fee of $10. Call Edna at 518/354-5179 or drop by the college to register and to learn about the other three workshops in her series which will be held on March 4th, March 16th, and April 15th.
