In "The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World," Robin Wall Kimmerer examines the idea of a gift economy using the serviceberry plant as a focal point. She illustrates how the abundant distribution of its berries reflects the principles of reciprocity and interconnectedness found in nature.
