Join the Champlain Area Trails Book Club: Discuss "The Serviceberry" by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Are you passionate about nature and literature? Join us for a thought-provoking discussion at the Champlain Area Trails conservation book club on Tuesday, September 9th, from 5 PM to 6 PM. This month, we will delve into "The Serviceberry", an uplifting book by Indigenous scientist Robin Wall Kimmerer. The purpose of the conservation book club is to gather and create community around a shared appreciation of environmental literature. In "The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World," Robin Wall Kimmerer examines the idea of a gift economy using the serviceberry plant as a focal point. She illustrates how the abundant distribution of its berries reflects the principles of reciprocity and interconnectedness found in nature.
