"How Women Won the War": We all know George Washington and Abraham Lincoln as important figures in our American story, but how many of us know of Sybil Ludington and Phoebe Pember? Underneath the popular narrative of history lies "the rest of the story." Join us as we learn from Diane O'Connor about the lasting historical contributions of these and many other important women in American history.
Diane O'Connor has more than 25 years of experience in non-profit management, both nationally and regionally. She served as Essex County Historian and now works with the Ticonderoga Historical Society. Diane holds a bachelor's degree from Point Park University and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Duke University. She speaks locally and nationally on subjects related to history, genealogy and horticulture.
Please email the Adirondack Torch Club at adktorch@gmail.com by Tuesday morning, April 5, if you and/or a group plan to come. List the names of those coming. We gather at 5:30 pm to socialize and order individually from the menu by 6 pm. The talk begins around 7 pm.
