Spend a day at Fort Ticonderoga and take part in a series of programs designed for homeschool families! While interacting with soldiers, students can ask about the life at the 18th-century fort. Step aboard the 1920s replica tour boat, Carillon, for a 90-minute narrated boat tour along the Ticonderoga Peninsula to gain an in-depth waterway experience. Participate in the "To Act as One United Body" program and practice the basic drills and marches of American soldiers at Ticonderoga during the Revolutionary War. Explore a new 2018 design in the six-acre Heroic Maze and answer clues connected to Fort Ticonderoga’s history as you find your way through the maze. During the day, students can learn about British soldiers and sailors who anchored and encamped at Fort Ticonderoga in 1781. While interacting with these British soldiers and sailors, students can ask about the different lives in the British Navy or British Army. What did they eat? Where did they sleep? How did fighting along Lake Champlain make life similar for soldiers and sailors? Students can explore the fort and museum exhibitions. They can take guided tours, learn about the fort’s history, and observe musket demonstrations. They can visit the historic trades shop, where shoes and clothing are produced by the fort’s staff, and learn about the global economy of the 1750s. Pre-registration not necessary.
