FREE Family Event
North Country Thrive is planning to host the first Annual Get Ready to Learn! event in Essex County on May 21st at Ticonderoga Elementary School from 10am-1pm. We will be utilizing the gymnasiums and other areas of the school, as we hope to solicit as many participants and families as possible! Clinton County reached over 800 participants! The event is open to the public at no cost.
Get Ready to Learn! is a free event to model activities and promote early childhood services and resources to get kids prepared for school. By bringing together all the resources available in Essex County, we hope to make a real impact on awareness in our region.
The event is to feature activities and information to improve early education and learning potential for children and provide resources to families in the region regarding topics such as nutrition, dental care, eye care, mental health, and literacy activities/resources.
We are asking for your support with this event and are hoping to have your organization represented at one of our activity/information tables. We will also have a limited number of classrooms available should you have a larger activity or presentation for the families and children in attendance, but will have a lot of space for any activity. There is no charge for your presence at this event, as our goal is to inform the public of the services available to all interested in early education and healthy children.
We will have two PBS friends, Curious George and SuperWhy, joining us to meet and greet families. We are also providing free, healthy food and beverage options for all in attendance. We have heard from several local organizations that have graciously agreed to support amazing giveaways each hour to promote and engage our community.
Please respond to ncthrive@plattsburgh.edu or go to www.northcountrythrive.org and sign up using the google form link by May 6th, 2016 if you are interested in hosting a table or space. We hope for an interactive day where all who attend will be enlightened about services and opportunities in our community which strengthen and enrich our lives and create a community environment that will not only attract new families to our region, but also serve our current residents with a robust support system. I have attached a registration form and link to this form (also online at www.northcountrythrive.org ) with this letter to assist us in meeting your needs at the event.
We look forward to seeing you at this event on the 21st of May.
