How heavy is an original 18th-century musket? How did the design of weapons change over the 18th century? How did the Brown Bess Musket pave the way for modern industry? Get the answers to these and more questions with the Curatorial staff of the Fort Ticonderoga Museum in this special behind-the-scenes program. After you receive training in handling artifacts, museum experts will oversee the examination of original weapons from Fort Ticonderoga's collection and explain the systems used to produce the firearms that won and defended the British Empire. Learn more than just how they worked! This program will explore how these weapons were produced by the thousands through a careful exploration of the evidence left on original examples.
