Museums, libraries and historical groups often collect a wide assortment of historical material with responsibility for its long-term care. In addition to safely handling the material, a system is needed for managing the collection for research purposes, developing exhibits and creating programs. This day-long workshop is presented by Stacy Pomeroy Draper, RCHS Curator, Kathryn Sheehan, RCHS Registrar and Rensselar County and City of Troy Historian. John Diefenderfer, Archivist with the New York State Archives, addresses the care of historical records. The hands-on interactive workshop includes a tour of the musuem, and a sharing of a specific challenge you face with your collection - and brainstorming solutions. Space is limited to 25 participants.
