8:00 AM - 2:00 PM EDT
Ticonderoga Golf Course
Members and supporters of fire, law enforcement, ambulance, and critical infrastructure emergency-response organizations from Essex and nearby Warren and Washington counties—along with members of the general public—are invited to form foursomes and play. A 9:00 a.m. shotgun start for four-player scramble teams kicks off two-tournaments-in-one fun:
· Competition One is for first-responder teams only (at least two members must be first responders), competing for top three “responder” trophies and special prizes.
· Competition Two is an open-for-all contest among all participating teams, first-responders and non-first-responders, competing for the top three "open” prizes.
Men and women golfers of all ages are invited to play. There will be competitions at every hole, special contests just for first responders, and long-drive and closest-to-the-pin challenges for all different classes of golfers.
At the same time, at Five Nations Golf just next door, grownups and kids are invited to take part in family fun activities. Families and friends of the golfers and other members of first-responder departments will particularly be welcome. Chilson Fire will have a fire truck there for kids to explore, ask questions, and pose for photos. Firefighters will be on hand to explain how the fire engine and its equipment are used to fight fires and rescue accident victims. They’ll also tell folks about how to get involved as volunteers in their own local first-response departments. And kids and adults will enjoy the driving range, the 18-hole miniature golf course, and the snack bar.
