At Chilson Volunteer Fire Department we’re observing RecruitNY this year with a pancake breakfast on Saturday, April 23, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the fire house at 60 Putts Pond Road. Drop in to enjoy Larry Lauman’s famous apple pancakes, with sides of bacon and sausage – and plenty of coffee, of course. Breakfast is free to our Chilson and Ticonderoga neighbors and friends (although donations will be gratefully accepted).
RecruitNY is a collaborative effort among volunteer fire departments statewide to help increase the number of volunteer firefighters. In addition to breakfast, you’re invited to tour the Chilson firehouse, check out our trucks and firefighter gear, and learn the requirements to be a volunteer firefighter or an auxiliary member of Chilson Volunteer Fire Department.
