Ticonderoga Airport Fly-In and Community Open House
The Town of Ticonderoga is thrilled to announce that the second annual Ticonderoga Fly-In will take place on Saturday, June 14th, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Ticonderoga Municipal Airport. The airport is located on Shore-Airport Road in Ticonderoga, NY. The event will include exhibitions, demonstrations, aircraft on display, food trucks, important airport information, and more. A rain date of Sunday, June 15th has also been scheduled, an announcement will be made on the Town of Ticonderoga Facebook page.
The Fly-In will also be an opportunity for the Town of Ticonderoga to showcase the airport, recent improvements, and investments, as well as possible future plans. Community members and visitors are encouraged to attend.
“We’re excited to bring back the Fly-In for a second year, and we’ve added a few new features we think the community will really enjoy,” said Tom Thatcher, Town of Ticonderoga Board Member and Airport Committee representative. “Last year, kids had a great time building their own paper airplanes — and this year, we’re adding a launch zone so they can test them out in a marked area on the grass. It’s a fun way to get families involved and spark curiosity about aviation. We also invite everyone to come learn about the exciting future of our airport — we’ve got some great projects in the works for next year. We hope to see you there!”
The Ticonderoga Municipal Airport is an important aspect of economic development for the community and is utilized more frequently than many realize. At the Ticonderoga Fly-In attendees will be able to connect with Town of Ticonderoga officials to learn more about the airport, ask questions, and tour airport facilities.
“I highly encourage residents and visitors to attend this fun-filled, annual event and become familiar with our incredible airport whose history goes back to 1939. Ticonderoga is fortunate to have a transportation facility such as this. Our municipal airport is one of many factors that make Ticonderoga an attractive location to live, work, invest, and play,” commented, Mark Wright, Town of Ticonderoga Supervisor.
