SUMMARY:Friday Working Hike @ Long Pond Trail
DESCRIPTION:CHAMPLAIN AREA TRAILS has A Friday WORKING HIKE on THE long pond trail ON september 27th AT 9 AM. Join Champlain Area Trails in working on this 4.5-mile multi-looped trail in Willsboro\, New York. There are a couple of loops\, making it not strictly an out-and-back hike. The trail reaches the pond at 1.3 miles and then follows the shoreline for more than a half mile with views along the way. At the end of the shoreline\, there is a wooded loop to add some length to your hike and another loop on the return that deviates from the trail you came in on and is worth taking for the interesting stone walls and corrals you will encounter. This is an easy hike.\n\n\n\nWHAT TO BRING: We will work with loppers\, hand saws\, and string trimmers\, which Champlain Area Trails can provide. Feel free to bring your tools as well. Make sure to bring gloves\, protective eye gear (if using a string trimmer)\, water\, and some snacks!\n\n\n\nDIRECTIONS: The trailhead is reached by turning off Route 22 on Carver Road\, five miles north of Willsboro or three miles south of the Northway's Willsboro exit. The parking lot is not quite a mile up Carver\, on the right and is identifiable by a small lot with a kiosk. REGISTRATION: Please register by 6:00 p.m. the day before the event by emailing tony@champlainareatrails.com\, but it's also okay to meet us there Friday at 9:00 a.m.
