SUMMARY:Bird Walk @ Point Au Roche State Park
DESCRIPTION:JOIN US ON FRIDAY\, JUNE 7TH AT 9 AM AT POINT AU ROCHE NATURE CENTER FOR A BIRDING WALK.\n\nJoin us for our First Friday Bird Walks series at Point Au Roche State Park from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Kristin Collins\, the environment educator at Point Au Roche State Park Nature Center\, and Torey Patenaude\, the Community Engagement and Outreach Manager for Champlain Area Trails\, will lead this fairly easy walk. They are not birding experts but rather nature lovers with some birding background. Located on the northwestern shore of Lake Champlain\, Point Au Roche State Park hosts a mixture of forested and open areas. We will walk a few miles on the trails looking for birds that overwinter here. The trails offer lovely views of Lake Champlain and budding woods in Spring. It will be a fantastic morning!\n\n\n\nNEED TO KNOW: This is a morning walk in June\, so be ready for some bugs and mud. BYOB (bring your own binoculars)- though the nature center will have a few pairs to lend out if needed.\n\n\n\nDIRECTIONS: Point Au Roche State Park is at 19 Camp Red Cloud Rd\, Plattsburgh\, NY 12901.\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION: Email torey@champlainareatrails.com to register\, though it is also okay to join that morning. We offer our outdoor educational programs for free\, thanks to our generous donors. Your support is crucial for us to continue providing these programs in the future. We would be grateful for your donation today!
