DESCRIPTION:Ticonderoga Volunteer Fire Company will host the next Ticonderoga area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) Networking Event. The March After Hours Mixer will take place on Thursday\, March 15th from 5:30 7:00 PM at the Ticonderoga Fire Hall of Flame Museum located at 60 Montcalm Street in Ticonderoga. Sponsors providing door prizes are Bridge Point Communication\, Century 21 Adirondacks\, Bodette's Barbecue Catering\, Glens Falls National Bank\, and the Wagon Wheel Restaurant. \n\n \n\nThe same evening the doors for Bingo open at 6:00 PM with the first game starting at 6:45 PM (this will be held in the main hall). Guests of the networking event are welcome to attend bingo as well following the event in the Hall of Flame Museum. \n\n \n\n"We are excited to host the Chamber\, area businesses\, organization and community members. We are pleased to work very closely with the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce throughout the year to make good things happen for the community. We are truly honored to serve the community in their time of need. In addition the Hall of Flame Museum here at Ti Fire is a positive addition to the community that highlights the history of the Ticonderoga Volunteer Fire Company. Summer Hours: Sunday\, Monday from 1-4 PM & Thursday from 1-5 PM. Winter Hours: Sunday 1-4 PM & Thursday from 1-5 PM. In addition appointments to tour the museum can be made. \n\n \n\nThe Chamber's "After Hours Mixers" provide a networking forum for Chamber Members and area business people in addition to showcasing the site of the host as well as promoting the door prize sponsors. Networking is a key component of Chamber membership and marketing your business. Chamber members\, area businesses\, and organizations are encouraged to take advantage of this and all networking opportunities. Join the Chamber to reconnect with area businesses and organizations\, meet new people\, and take advantage of the opportunity to hear from the hosts. In addition use this opportunity to share information with the Chamber and get to know all of our local businesses and organizations. \n\n\n\nThe Ticonderoga Volunteer Fire Company has a strong team of local volunteers that make all of their efforts possible. Many generations of family members continue to serve the department. They are always looking for new members and they have an array of volunteer opportunities available. In addition the Ticonderoga Fire Ladies Auxiliary is need of members/volunteers. \n\n\n\n"The Ticonderoga Fire Department is always looking for new members with several different types of membership available. Membership includes\, regular\, associate\, junior and auxiliary. Applications can be obtained on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7:00 or by contacting any member. You don't have to be an interior firefighter and go in burning buildings to help\, they have members who drive\, are fire police\, exterior support\, administrative\, etc. Feel free to stop by and see how you can help. Junior members are a great way for our youth to get involved in community service\," shared Matthew Watts Ticonderoga Fire Department Chief. \n\n\n\nThe Ticonderoga Volunteer Fire Department membership had a very busy year in 2017. They responded to 257 emergencies including: \n\n25 Fire Calls - 9 building fires\, 4 vehicle fires\, 4 chimney \n\nfires and 7 other fires.\n\n51 Rescue Calls 30 MVA's\, 15 EMS Assists\, 4 Water \n\nRescues\, 2 other rescues.\n\n28 Hazardous Condition Calls they include\, power lines \n\ndown\, Carbon Monoxide Incidents\, LP Gas leaks.\n\n47 Service calls 17 Cellar pump outs\, 11 smoke \n\nconditions\, 5 station standbys and 14 other calls.\n\n18 Good intent Calls these include\, authorized burns that \n\nwere called in\, general smoke in an area that was \n\nunfounded\, etc. \n\n81 False alarms these are residential and commercial fire \n\nalarms\, calls that result in a faulty smoke alarm or \n\nCarbon Monoxide Alarms\, etc.\n\n7 Severe Weather & Natural Disaster calls.\n\n \n\nThese calls totaled 1826.2 man hours with an average response time of 2.4 minutes and an average time of 5.0 minutes from the time of call until the first unit arrived on scene and the average call taking 37.2 minutes.
